Five Little Bats

I have two different rhymes that can be used with this set of bats. I love how the expressions turned out on their faces.

1.0
Five black bats
Ready to soar;
One stayed behind
Now there are four.

Four black bats
Hiding in a tree;
One flew away
and that left three.

Three black bats
Wondering what to do;
One flew away,
Now there are two.

Two black bats
Hiding from the sun;
One flew away
and that left one

One black bat
hanging all alone;
It flew away
and then there were none.

2.0
Five little bats on a dark, dark night.
Five little bats are quite a sight.

Five little bats are you keeping score?
One flew away and then there were four.

Four little bats as happy as can be.
One flew away and there were three.

Three little bats are swooping towards you.
One flew away and that leaves two.

Two little bats having lots of fun.
One flew away and that leaves one.

One little bat and we’re almost done!
He flew away and then there none.

Two Mother Pigs
Two mother pigs lived in a pen show thumbs
Each had four babies, and that made ten show fingers & thumbs
These four babies were black as night thumb in palm, wiggle fingers
These four babies were black and white switch hands, repeat
But all eight babies loved to play
And they rolled and rolled in the mud all day roll hands
At night, with their mother, they curled up in a heap clasp hands
And squealed and squealed till they fell fast asleep.

Five Little Piggies
“It’s time for my piggies to go to bed,” the great big mother piggy said.
“So I will count them first to see if all my piggies came back to me.
One little piggy, two little piggies, three little piggies dear
Four little piggies, five little piggies, — yes, they’re all here!”

Puppets

When Pigs Get Up in the Morning by Laura Johnson
For this song I used a pig, duck, sheep, and cow puppet as the music played. My puppets all came from Folkmanis.
