Bounces, Rhymes & Fingerplays

Monkeys and the Crocodile
Five little monkeys sitting in a tree, hold up five fingers
Teasing Mr. Crocodile,
“You can’t catch me!” Thumbs in ears, waving fingers
Along came Mr. Crocodile, silently hands, palms together, weaving back and forth
And snap! clap hands once together

Monkey See-Monkey Do
Oh, when you clap, clap, clap your hands clap
The monkey clap, clap, claps his hands
Monkey see, monkey do.
The monkey does the same as you

stamp feet… stamp or wave feet
jump high… jump or bounce
make a funny face… raise eyebrows and stick tongue out
turn yourself about… twist side to side

Music

The Lion Sleeps Tonight by Suzi Shelton
When the music is quiet we rock the babies back and forth and when the lions wake up we bounce the babies.
