“Mary Wore Her Red Dress” is a tune that easily adapts to fit many different themes. “The King Wore a Crown” is one such adaptation that has been in my library’s flannel board files for quite some time. Instead of placing the crowns onto a flannel board, the felt crowns stick really well to my teddy bear. Kids have great fun coming up to put the different crown on the bear. We cut the crows out using an Ellison Die Cut.

tune: Mary Wore Her Red Dress
The king wore a red crown, red crown, red crown,
The king wore a red crown to court today.
The queen wore a purple crown, purple crown, purple crown,
The queen wore a purple crown to court today.
The prince wore a yellow crown, yellow crown, yellow crown,
The prince wore a yellow crown to court today.
The princess for a blue crown, blue crown, blue crown,
The princess wore a blue crown to court today.
