Flannel Boards

For the crayon theme I used one flannel with a bunch of different rhymes. I didn’t make this one. Rather some colleagues found in online for sale. The crayons can be slid in and out of the box as needed. The rhyme “Harold’s Other Crayons” comes from Story Time Secrets

Crayon Colors
It looks like mustard and rhymes with fellow,
The crayon that I’m holding is the color yellow.

It looks like strawberries and rhymes with bed,
The crayon that I’m holding is the color red.

It looks like bubble gum and rhymes with think,
The crayon that I’m holding is the color pink.

It looks like grass and rhymes with bean,
The crayon that I’m holding is the color green.

It looks like mud and rhymes with frown,
The crayon that I’m holding is the color brown.

It looks like night and rhymes with track,
The crayon that I’m holding is the color black.

It looks like snow and rhymes with bite,
The crayon that I’m holding is the color white.

It looks like the sky and rhymes with glue,
The crayon that I’m holding is the color blue.

It looks like grapes and rhymes with circle,
The crayon that I’m holding is the color purple.

Five Little Crayons
Five little crayons, waiting in a row,
The first one said, “I’m red, you know!’
The second one said, “I’m green like a tree.”
The third one said, “I’m blue like the sea.
The fourth one said, “I’m yellow as the sun.”
The fifth one said, “Being purple is fun!”
Five little crayons, happy as can be,
Coloring pictures with you and me!

Harold’s Other Crayons
tune: Mary Wore Her Red Shirt

Harold was working on a picture, he used his purple crayon.
Harold used his purple crayon, purple crayon, purple crayon,
Harold used his purple crayon all day long.

The next day Harold decided to use blue!
Harold used his blue crayon, blue crayon, blue crayon,
Harold used his blue crayon all day long.

Repeat with green, yellow, orange, red

Wow! Look at all of Harold’s crayons.
Let’s say the colors one more time.
Do you know why Harold used all these colors?
Because he was drawing a rainbow!
