I picked up the rhyme for “Five Little Turkeys” on DLTK’s website. It has been a number of years since I have made this set so I can’t remember what I used for a pattern. I did make sure that each turkey was unique. The color order of the feathers is different for each bird. I usually pick a handful of kids to come up and help put the turkeys on the flannel board before starting the rhyme. They love to help out!

Five little turkeys by the front door,
One waddled off, then there were four.
Four little turkeys out under the tree,
One waddled off, then there were three.
Three little turkeys with nothing to do,
One waddled off, then there were tow.
Two little turkeys in the noonday sun,
One waddled off, then there was one.
One little turkey—better run away!
Soon it will be Thanksgiving Day.
